【摘要】:1ThispartofISO5659specifiesamethodofmeasuringsmokeproductionfromtheexposedsurfaceofspecimensofessentiallyflatmaterials,compositesorassembliesnotexceeding25mminthickness,whenplacedinahorizontalorientationandsubjectedtospecifiedlevelsofthermalirradianceunderforcedventilationconditions.withorwithouttheapplicationofapilotflame.Thismethodoftestisapplicabletoplasticsandmayalsobeusedfortheevaluationofothermaterials(e.g.rubbers,textilecoverings,paintedsurfaces,woodandotherbuildingmaterials).2Valuesofopticaldensitydeterminedbythistestarespecifictothespecimenorassemblymaterialintheformandthicknesstestedandarenottobeconsideredinherent,fundamentalproperties.3Thetestisintendedforuseinresearchanddevelopmentandnotprimarilyasabasisforratingsforbuildingcodesorotherpurposes.Nobasisisprovidedforpredictingthedensityofsmokewhichmaybegeneratedbythematerialsuponexposuretoheatandflameunderotherexposureconditions,suchasend-useconditions,norhasanycorrelationbeenestablishedwithmeasurementsderivedfromothertestmethods.4Itisemphasizedthatsmokeproductionfromamaterialvariesaccordingtotheventilationconditionsandtheirradianceleveltowhichthespecimenisexposed.Inmakinguseoftheresultsofthismethod,itshouldbeborneinmindthattheresultsarebasedonexposuretothespecificirradiancelevelsof25kW/mandof50kW/munderspecificventilationconditions.
